Preventative Care and Dental Hygiene:

We believe that most dental disease is preventable, therefore, prevention and maintenance programs and required in order to keep optimal dental health and a healthy smile. The prevention of dental problems is always far better than treating them when it’s too late and more costly. On our routine check up appointments we perform local clinical examination, completed with digital x-rays and cleaning of your teeth and gums.

Emergency Service:

Because we understand how important your health and comfort are, and that sometimes dental problems just can’t wait we provide around the clock emergency service, including night and weekend emergency service with a small extra-charge.

Digital x-ray are the most modern technology when it comes to dental x-rays.  This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer.  This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged helping us to detect problems more easily and earlier. Digital x-rays allow the radiation to be reduced in 80-90% compared to the traditional dental x-rays.

Dental x-rays are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. This information is used to safely and accurately detect hidden dental abnormalities and complete an accurate treatment plan. Without x-rays, problem areas may go undetected.

Teeth Whitening

Your teeth will darken over time. Changes in the colour of your teeth can be caused by such factors as food and beverages consumed (coffee, tea and soft drinks). Other known factors for discolouration may include childhood medications or illnesses, tobacco use, or improper oral hygiene. Our goal is to meet the needs of every patient, and every patient’s needs are different, so we can provide a variety of options for whitening your smile.

Composite (white) fillings:

These are resin / composite bonded fillings, which can be matched to the colour of the tooth. These fillings don't contain any toxic substances and they can be placed on both front and back teeth. We use only the best white filling materials so that not only do they look great but they last a long time as well. White fillings have glue like properties which means they bond the tooth together and in some case can be used to strengthen the tooth. It is necessary to remove all the decay and clean the tooth before placing the filling. Once the material has been progressively placed in the tooth a special curing light is used, which immediately sets the filling.

Fissure Sealants

Fissure sealant is a special varnish used to prevent cavities from developing in the pits and fissures of teeth.

Odontopaediatrics (children’s dentistry):

We believe that good dental health patterns should begin in infancy and continue throughout adult life. We understand that positive experiences early in life will lead to regular dental visits as an adult and a smile to be proud of. We provide a caring, fun environment where infants, children and teenagers feel comfortable and safe, offering an extensive range of paedriatic dental services and, including interceptive orthodontics, behaviour management techniques, education programs and preventive care, that will keep children’s mouths cavity free and looking great.

Implantology ,Oral Surgery:

The benefits of replacing missing teeth for life with dental implants are numerous, such as improved facial appearence, gum, teeth and bone retention, a totally natural aesthetic and outstanding reliability. Dental implants don’t sacrifice the quality of your adjacent teeth, like a bridge does, because neighbouring teeth don’t need to be altered or prepared to support the implant. Dental implants will allow you to once again speak and eat with comfort and confidence. They are totally secure and offer the possibility of permanently replace a single tooth, support a bridge, or even eliminate the need for a denture and restore an entire smile.

Our clinic uses the most modern and reliable implant systems. The procedure is easy and painless and the recovery very quick. Immediate load or two step surgical procedures are possible, which means that, depending on each case, the ceramic crowns or bridges may be placed shortly after the implant surgery, or a waiting period may be required for the bone to heal before the rehabilitation with the crowns or bridges.

We perform most types of oral surgery, either involving classical tooth extractions, third molar or wisdom tooth extractions, apicectomy, implantology or periodontal surgical procedures.

The most common of all these procedures is the wisdom tooth extraction. While not all wisdom teeth require removal, they are often performed due to an active problem such as pain, swelling, decay or infection, or as a preventative measure to avoid serious problems in the future. If impaction of one or more wisdom teeth is present, and left untreated, a number of potentially harmful outcomes can occur.

Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment):

It involves removal of an infected or dead nerve from the root canal of a tooth in order to treat a dental abscess or if we get there in time, it’s possible to prevent the abscess from developing at all. First it is necessary to determine the exact length of you tooth's root allowing the removal of all the tissue inside the roots of the teeth, which contains all the nerves and blood vessels that nourish the tooth nerve all the way up to the tip of the root. The remaining root canal will then be cleaned, disinfected and shaped so that it can easily be filled.  The root canals are then filled with a special root filling material. This is all done under a rubber dam, which is a special latex/vinyl cover which prevents any saliva or bacteria from re-entering the tooth once it has been disinfected.

Front teeth will normally only have one root canal whereas back teeth can have up to four canals. It is often required to have two appointments before the root canal treatment can be completed. Once this has been carried out the tooth becomes much more fragile and so crowning of the tooth is normally advised.

Periodontics (gum disease):

Many people can have gum disease without exhibiting any symptoms. Regular periodontal examination and professional dental cleaning are fundamental in order to maintain healthy teeth and gums. As part our regular check up appointments, your gingival tissues are inspected for colour and firmness, your teeth evaluated for looseness, and your bite examined and checked. Digital x-rays and gentle probing may also be required for assessing changes in the bone that supports your teeth. Every patient is different in their dividable ability to resist gum disease. Should you have periodontal disease, today’s advanced treatment procedures can usually save your teeth and smile.

Occlusion, Oro-Facial Pain and Temporomandibular Disfunction (articular disease):

Jaw  or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems range from ringing in the ears, headaches, limited mouth opening, to referred muscular pain. We examine the movement of the jaw joint (TMJ) to detect any disharmony. We can also determine the status of the muscles that control both jaw and joint movements. Early detection and treatment of TMJ problems allows us to prevent further deterioration of the TMJ and remove or minimize and symptoms that you may have been suffering from.

With orthodontics we can align your teeth to produce the smile and the face profile you’ve always wanted. We provide child, teenage and adult orthodontics, either using function appliances that will influence the growth of the jaws in a positive manner, or by the use of braces and wires that will gently move the teeth into the desired position, or other modern devices that will allow us to create a more beautiful smile and perfect bite.

Fixed and Removable Prosthetics (crowns, bridges, dentures)

When teeth are seriously damaged, broken, deteriorated and unsuitable for a direct placement filling, a crown (cap) will be needed to strengthen the tooth. We will remove any old fillings as well as decay and place a new core reconstruction into the tooth. In some cases you may need a special post inserted into the root to hold the crown onto the tooth. Once this has been done the tooth will be shaped so that a crown can be fitted over it. A mould (copy of your teeth) is taken which is given to the dental lab so that they can make it fit the tooth perfectly. At the same time we take a colour shade and the crown will be made the same colour as its neighbouring teeth.

While we are waiting for the crown to be made, a temporary crown is fitted over the tooth for a few days. There are many different materials available for a crown. The selected material depends on individual patient needs; such as tooth position and size, desired final appearance, strength and stability of the bite, or other personal criteria of the patient. On your return appointment the crown is fitted with permanent cement.

This is a permanently attached prosthetic appliance, which replaces missing teeth. When placing a bridge we will need to use the teeth on either side of the space to hold it in place. A bridge is therefore a false tooth which is attached to a crown on each of the neighbouring teeth. These teeth will need to be shaped to fit the bridge. In those cases where these neighbouring teeth already have large fillings a bridge is a good option as it can be used to strengthen these teeth and replace the missing tooth. If this is not the case then we may prefer to look at other options which are less invasive, such as dental implants. Once the teeth have been shaped a mould will be taken (copy of your teeth) so that the dental lab can manufacture the bridge.

While we are waiting for this, a temporary bridge will be placed for a few days. There are again different types of bridges all of which will match the neighbouring teeth in colour. Although dental implants have become a more favorable method for replacing missing teeth, bridges are more affordable and in some cases may be the only option. On your return appointment the bridge will be fitted with permanent cement.
